Ingredients § 10 chow chow § 6 Sambar Onion § cloves garlic § 1 tomato chopped § 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds § 1 tbsp Mustard seeds § ½ tbsp Bengal gram § ½ tbsp Urad dal § 1 spring Curry Leaves § ½ tbsp red chilli powder § ½ tsp Turmeric powder § 1/4 tsp Asafoetida § 1 tbsp jaggery § 4 tbsp tamarind water § salt to taste § 3 tbsp Oil § Water as needed For roasting and grinding § 1 Dry Red Chilli § 2 tbsp Coconut grated § 1 tbsp coriander seeds § 1 tbsp Cumin seeds § 1 tbsp Bengal gram § 1 tbsp urad dal § 1/2 tbsp peppercorns |
Instructions
- Dry roast fenugreek seeds & coarsely grind
- Heat 2 tbsp sesame oil in a pan , add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Bengal gram and urad dal.
- Add curry leaves, asafoetida, garlic, onion & sauté well
- Add fenugreek powder saute.
- Add tomato saute till soft.
- Add chow chow, turmeric, red chilli powder saute.
- Then add water, cook till soft.
- Add ground paste & water mix well let it boil.
- Add tamarind water & salt let it boil
- Add jaggery mix well let it boil for 2 min.
- Then cut off heat, serve hot with rice, idly, dosa.
