Ingredients
- Rice flour 1 cup
- Powdered sugar 3/4 cup + 1 tbsp, powdered
- Coconut 2 tbsps, freshly grated (optional)
- Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
- Milk few tsps
- Ghee 1 tbsp
Method for making Chalimidi
- Take a bowl, add freshly ground fine rice flour. Add grated coconut, powdered sugar and cardamom powder and mix.
- Add ghee and mix well. Add little milk, tsp at a time and make a soft dough.
- Remove to a serving bowl. You can make smaller balls of the Chalimidi dough or make a single large ball and offer as Prasadam.
Tips
- To make rice flour, soak 1 cup raw rice in water overnight. Next day, drain water and dry the rice on a cloth for 20-30 mins. Grind the rice to a fine powder. Sieve and use the fine rice flour. Grind the remaining coarse rice grains to make a fine powder.
