Fish fry masala recipe

A quick and easy fish fry masala recipe.

Ingredients

  • 5-6 fish pieces wash them well with water, salt, turmeric and also lemon if required
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder/haldi
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds powder/jeera water
  • 1 tsp roasted coriander seeds/dhaniya powder
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2-3 tsp water
  • 3 tbsp oil for shallow frying

For garnishing and serving:

  • 3-4 lemon wedges
  • 2 tbsp freshly chopped coriander leaves
  • onion rings

Instructions

Washing of the fish:

  1. Take fish pieces, wash them well under running water, apply some salt and turmeric to the fish pieces and rest it for few minutes.
  1. Wash the fish well again and also use lemon juice if there is still any unwanted smell.

Making of the masala paste and coating it to the fish:

  1. In a bowl or a plate, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds powder, dhaniya powder, salt as per taste, ginger garlic paste.
  1. Mix all the spices well.
  2. Add water gradually approx… about 2 to 3 tsp, mix it and make a thick paste.
  3. The masala paste is ready.
  4. Take some paste in your hands, take the fish piece and coat it all over the whole fish piece with the masala paste.
  5. Coat all the fish pieces with the masala paste.
  6. Marinate the fish for 10-15 minutes.

Frying the coated fish pieces:

  1. In a pan, add 3 tbsp oil and heat it.
  1. Place the fish pieces carefully and cook them for 5 minutes.
  2. Flip the fish pieces and cook the other side too for 5 minutes.
  3. Flip again and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
  4. Flip the other side too and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
  5. Each side should be shallow fried well for 10 minutes on low to medium flame.
  6. Take the fish pieces out.
  7. Place them on an absorbent paper.
  8. Similarly, fry the rest of the pieces.
  9. Sprinkle lemon juice while serving the fish.
  10. Serve with onion rings and fresh coriander leaves.

Notes

1.Do not get confused in turning the fish pieces upside down, just make sure to fry both the sides well until fish turns soft, golden red and crisp.2.To get a perfect fried fish it approximately requires 15 minutes for both the sides to be fried well.
